Advancial Members Raise $21,129 for Acadiana Animal Aid
LAFAYETTE, LA (December 13, 2022) – Advancial Federal Credit Union concluded its second annual Swipe and Support campaign by donating $21,129 to Acadiana Animal Aid during a check presentation at the organization's Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 10. Throughout the campaign that began on September 1 and concluded November 30, a percentage of all Visa® Rewards Plus cardholder transactions in the Acadiana area was pooled together to be donated to AAA at the end of the campaign.
“Acadiana Animal Aid was thrilled to partner with Advancial for their Swipe and Support campaign,” says Jeanine Foucher, Executive Director of AAA. “Their members’ commitment to animal welfare surpassed our wildest imaginations and we could not be more grateful for the community support. This donation will go a long way in helping us rescue Louisiana cats and dogs who need us most. From start to finish this has been an amazing partnership and we want to thank everyone who participated this year.”
In 2021, Advancial launched their inaugural Swipe and Support campaign and saw members raise over $16,000 for the inclusive playground being planned for Parc Sans Souci by Downtown Lafayette Unlimited. After that success and seeing the generosity of their Acadiana members, Advancial was eager to launch the campaign a second time and chose to partner with Acadiana Animal Aid to support the organization’s lifesaving work for cats and dogs throughout the region.
“Our goal was $15,000,” says Lacey Maynor, Advancial’s Community Development Manager. “Needless to say we were completely blown away by the final total. The fact that we surpassed that goal by 40% is a huge testament to how incredible our members are. I could not be more proud to be part of Advancial, not only as an employee but also as a member myself. Since 1985, we have been honored to serve Acadiana and are thrilled to be able to give back to organizations doing amazing work through this campaign.”
Acadiana Animal Aid is a no kill animal welfare organization for dogs and cats in the Acadiana area. The organization saves over 2,000 pets per year and spends an average of $500 per animal to cover vaccines, medical treatment, fostering costs and transport programs. This donation can cover the cost of intake vaccines for 845 animals.
